If there’s one thing I love about being a freelance graphic designer, it’s getting to help startup companies create their brand from start to finish. I love being on the journey with them as we design everything from their logo to their business cards to their signs and more.
It’s with pleasure that I shine the spotlight on Feed Your Soul Travel founded by a great friend of mine, Stacy Horn. I want to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at what building her brand is like.
About Feed Your Soul Travel
Feed Your Soul Travel is an up-and-coming business that is in the startup stages. She is literally building a brand from the ground up and she has hired me to be the designer for the journey.
Her concept is to provide travel that feeds your soul through your heart, mind, spirit, and belly. She will offer various destinations that adventurers can pick and choose from based on whether they’re currently interested in feeding their: heart, mind, belly, or spirit.
Each destination is tailored to the most divine dishes or quiet places for meditation, etc. So, if you’re all about trying new food and local cuisine, you’d select a different adventure than someone looking for a relaxing spiritual retreat.
This company gets all my feels going, because I absolutely love to travel and I love her spin on it.
Stage One of the Brand Building Process
Feed Your Soul knew that a graphic designer was needed to design the logo, but in developing the brand we actually had to take a few steps back.
Stage One of my design process includes logo development, but before we do that we have to identify the brand color palette and any patterns, textures, or icons that the company wants to associate with their brand.
So, we first identified and fine-tuned the color palette.
Once I helped to identify the best color palette for the brand, I designed the logo.
Feed Your Soul’s travel categories are split into places that feed your heart, mind, belly, or spirit, so we also created icons to designate those separate categories.
This is just stage one of the process and I am so excited to unveil stage two which includes business cards, Instagram styled images, and custom itineraries.
If you’re starting a business and need a logo or are looking for a graphic designer to hire to develop your entire brand, I’d love to help you with the branding and design.
