Find out the Color of the Year for 2017 and Why It’s So Hot

Ever wonder how color trends emerge or how a color of the year is picked? Or even who picks it?

This year Pantone—a world-renowned authority on color and provider of the standard language for color communication between designers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers—announced “GREENERY” as the color of the year for 2017.

Greenery is a color that’s symbolic of new beginnings. It’s a refreshing and revitalizing color that brings our focus back to nature. It’s reminiscent of the outdoors, forest foliage, and signals us to take a deep breath and reinvigorate ourselves.

According to Pantone, the reason this color has emerged as the color for 2017 is in large part due to the unrest of the political, social, and economic environments. It represents our growing desire for new beginnings and rejuvenation.

Greenery demonstrates the mood and transition that Pantone and other color authorities are seeing across the global environment as consumers seeks out more tranquility and beauty from the natural world in their lives.

This color is perfect for company branding, especially those within the health and wellness space, nature space, and spiritual or personal growth space as green hues naturally signify health, growth, nature, and peace.
